Density of small seedlings (heights up to 20 cm) and tall seedlings (taller than 20 cm) in the medium gap and small gap based on four within-gap positions (A, B, C and D) during the years 2001, 2003, 2004 and 2006: gap position A - plots located along the gap edges with less sun exposure; gap position B - plots in the gap centres with the highest irradiance; gap position C - plots under the forest canopy, which correspond to the lowest ISFs and DSFs; gap position D - plots along the sun-exposed edges of the gaps. Please note the different scales for the different species
