Distance of the target tree from the indicated upwind stand edge.

gapize_N, gapize_NE, ...

This is the size of the gap (in metres) in the indicated upwind direction. For example, gapize_N is the size of the associated gap when the wind direction is from the north.

From the regression-based critical wind speed model:

cws_N, cws_NE, cws_E, ...

Critical wind speed (for various wind directions). For example, cws_N denotes the critical wind speed calculated at the point, assuming that the wind is blowing from the north.

After modification with wind multipliers:

tmws_N, tmws_NE, tmws_E, ...

Threshold meteorological wind speed.
