A photomicrograph of Bacillus megaterium or B. aryabhattai taken from a contaminated ash shoot culture. A film of the contaminating bacteria was air-dried, and heat fixed before being stained with 2% aqueous safranin for 15 s, washed with distilled water and air dried for ~ 15 min.
